To celebrate black women on the rise, Refinery29 launched Black Is The New Black - a list that features twenty black who kicked down doors in their fields this past year.
Visual Artist Nichole Washington was commissioned to create all the custom illustrations for the story. A logo and social assets that worked with the illustrations were designed to be featured in the story and tie the whole visual identity together.
